Halloween Tips

by: Dr. John @ DietFreeWeightLossPlan.com

Halloween is an exciting time for kids and parents. However, it is also an excellent opportunity to teach kids about healthy eating habits. Eating as much candy as they can will be what kids will want to do on Halloween night and the following days. Kids must learn that moderation is best. A parent can help by only providing a piece of Halloween candy after a child has eaten a piece of fruit or healthy food first. The child should not be allowed to eat as much candy as they can since this will lead to poor eating habits.

A parent can show healthy eating by providing alternatives for Trick or Treating such as raisins, candied apples, coated nuts, granola bars, etc. instead of the standard candy and chocolate.
